medjuck Posted October 7, 2021 Report Posted October 7, 2021 Watched "The Fugitive Kind" last night. Got a sense of how exciting Brando must have seemed in the '50s. Also music by Kenyon Hopkins. Quote

Bluesnik Posted October 9, 2021 Report Posted October 9, 2021 Robert Fripp once had a band called like this. Of course after King Crimson, at the beginning of the 80s IIRC. Herzog with his fetish actor Klaus Kinski, in the role of a Spanish Conquistador. You can't go wrong with that pair. In the book I'm reading on Krautrock the chapter I finished today talked both and together about Popol Vuh and Werner Herzog. Logic if you consider the former signed many soundtracks for him. Among them their perhaps most famous to Aguirre. Quote

Yeah Fitzcarraldo yeah ... but also Stroczek for me and not to be forgotten; 'My son, my son, what have ye done'. Do yourself a favour and check the last one out (if you haven't). Also David Lynch involved ... Quote

With Adrian Belew, one of my favorite rock guitarists. Quote

Dub Modal Posted October 25, 2021 Report Posted October 25, 2021 Started Ted Lasso. There was a review written about the 80s movie The Breakfast Club that mentioned that the interactions between the kids were essentially therapy sessions formatted to a specific conflict resolution mode - one that was pretty aggressive but en vogue at the time. Lasso comes off the same, only a different model is used. I thought this was supposed to be funny. There's some good bits but overall it feels like attending friendly therapy sessions and life coaching seminars. Aw shucks Huckleberry, I've been scammed. Quote
JSngry Posted October 25, 2021 Report Posted October 25, 2021 I would watch every Goodson-Todman TV game show ever made if they were all on the TV. Quote
