Dave James
CNN is reporting that a decision has been reached in the Michael Jackson case. The verdict will be read at approximately 4:45 Eastern Time this afternoon. Up over and out.
7/4
This should be fun.
7/4
It's interesting how while we're waiting for the results, CNN has live footage of SUVs racing down the highway to the courthouse. Looks kinda familiar... When's my take out arriving?
Son-of-a-Weizen
I hope that her phalanx of attendents keep a sharp eye on Liz Taylor in London to make sure she doesn't fly into a frightful tizzy and start popping fistfuls of downers if Michael gets sent to room with an ex-Hell's Angel in prison for 3-5. Christiern
I think he is guilty but that he will get away with it. We should have had a pre-verdict poll.
Rooster_Ties
Just spun the dial, and all the networks are carrying this live (saw a couple minutes of the helicopters following Jackson's entourage on the highway), as are all the 24-hour news stations (of course). Even MTV. Excuse me, but other than Jackson's notoriety as a celebrity, what is even remotely newsworthy about this case -- that it deserves even one 1,000th of the coverage its gotten?? Frankly, I don't give a rat's ass about knowing what the verdict is.

Christiern
I knew he'd get away with it. I wonder how much they paid this jury. Edited June 13, 2005 by Christiern
Son-of-a-Weizen
Frankly, I don't give a rat's ass about knowing what the verdict is. I think I'd rather watch Paris Hilton participate in the National Spelling Bee.

Christiern
I think the fact that they did not even find him guilty of giving alcohol to kids is very telling.. This jury was not playing it straight. So now we can all glorify child molestation?
sheldonm
He has been found "not guilty " of lewd acts on a child.....wow, what a surprise!
catesta
I knew he'd get away with it. I wonder how much they paid this jury. ← I'm sure book and interview deals are being signed this very minute. What a joke.

DTMX
It was that Jay Leno testimony that swayed the jury. That, and Kevin Eubanks laughing it up behind him.

Big Al
Wow, I didn't think it possible to find a jury even more clueless than the OJ jury.... but they found 'em. Jacko is a fucking monster. Literally and figuratively. What really scares me is that there are people out there who will willingly let their children spend time with Jacko, without a second thought, because they will see this trial as evidence of his innocence. Unfuckingbelievable.

I wonder how much they paid this jury. ← I'm sure book and interview deals are being signed this very minute. What a joke. ← It gets him out of debt! ← Shit, I was talking just about the jury members. I hadn't really thought about it, but hell yes this will be good for Jackson's bank account. I wonder when we are going to start seeing California prosecutors request change of venue to a different state when attempting to convict a celebrity? I'm guessing it's not possible, but it sure seems like it's become necessary.
JSngry
Apparently the jury's nose for justice was about as real as Jackson's...
Christiern
They are saying that juror #5 has already negotiated a book deal. Business as usual--hell, who needs justice when we have a regime that doesn't know the meaning of the word.
