ghost of miles Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 Can you imagine? And the guy essentially went straight from age 19 to 39... coma Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 That's crazy! I cannot imagine the hope of the family to even keep him there in the hospital for that long. I think most people would've just given up and pulled the plug. Amazing. Quote
JSngry Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 Please, for the love of God - DON'T TELL HIM WYNTON IS SIGNED TO BLUE NOTE! Quote

ghost of miles Posted July 9, 2003 Author Report Posted July 9, 2003 Or what happened to Michael Jackson... Quote
BERIGAN Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 Damn!!!! last lines....The timing raised eyebrows. "It's kind of peculiar. He wrecked on Friday the 13th and 19 years later he started talking on Friday the 13th," Jerry Wallis said. Quote
Alexander Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 The poor guy thinks that it's still 1984 and that Reagan is still president. That would be hell. Imagine! Having to listen to Flock of Seagulls and those damn "Where's the beef" commercials for the rest of your life... Quote
Big Wheel Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 The Yahoo version left out the best part of the story: (from CNN) It's not just his language abilities that have changed. So, too, has his personality, Terry's parents said. When the speech therapist asked him what she could do for him, "He told her, 'Make love to me,'" said his father. "That's kind of strange, because he would not have talked dirty before he wrecked." Right, I'm sure his "personality change" has a neurological cause...it has NOTHING to do with the fact that this guy hasn't gotten any play for the last 19 years! Quote
connoisseur series500 Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 Quick, someone tell him about Blue Note's Connoisseur Series. B) Quote

Guest Mnytime Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 I can't remember the longest anyone has stayed in a coma and recovered but I believe the longest known Coma is 48-50 years. Quote

Regarding your factoid, Mny: I thought Nauru's chief export was phospherous. Is that related to the bird droppings? Explain. Where do you get those factoids from? Your factoid on Bangkok's full name was correct and was even spelled credibly. There is no set transliteration between the Latin and Thai alphabets. Quote
Guest Mnytime Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 (edited) The phosphorus is made from the bird droppings. I believe bird droppings contain 25-28% phosphorus. Of course the spelling would be credible. What is the point of posting a factoid if you are not correct on your factoid? Read as much as I have and you pick up all kinds of info. Trivial Pursuit is not a game you want to play against me. Edited July 9, 2003 by Mnytime Quote
connoisseur series500 Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 I'm a monster in terms of general knowledge as well. Somehow this hasn't translated to a good job. Quote
connoisseur series500 Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 We should have a general knowledge/factoid thread. Someone pops out a question and sees if anyone else knows the answer. Quote

Man, back in 1984 the Atari 2600 and the Commodore 64 were the shit. And Ghostbusters and Return of the Jedi = the best visual effects. CRAZY! Quote

Guest Mnytime Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 (edited) I believe he means how they fired DLR than spent 11+ years with Sammy Hager than fired him and got back together with DLR for a NY minute and "fired" him again or conned him and their fans. Depending on which side you ask about what happened. Currently they are in limbo as DLR and Sammy have toured together and separately and Michael Anthony has even toured with Sammy. No one has heard from the VH brothers in a couple years. Their label even dropped VH. The interesting thing to point out is that next year they are eligible for the Rock and Roll and Hall of Fame. catesta Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 (edited) I was just kidding fellas. Just a little "coma" humor. BTW B3-er, is that Darryl Hannah, or Bo Derek in that picture? Edited July 9, 2003 by catesta Quote

Yeah you could say all that... or you could just say that they fired David Lee Roth, hired Sammy Hagar and they've sucked ever since. Isn't that easier? Quote
