so here's the dilemma - do i keep the non-RVG versions of the RVG's i just bought?

is there any legitimate reason to keep both?

is the sound better on any of the old ones?

i am a hoarder by nature and my wife likes to cull so marital harmony is at stake here!!!

:)

When I got married a little over 20 years ago, I already owned nearly 5,000 LPs. So when CDs came along, my wife said to me, "As far as you're concerned "CD" means "Certain Divorce".

Some 2,000+ CDs later, we're still together. :D

No reason to keep both.

If you're buying RVGs, it's usually because you expect the remastering to be an improvement. So why keep the "inferior" master?

that's my inclination, but if there were ANY reason, i wanted to hear it!

That's a question for your ears to answer.

i can't tell any difference. :(

Then keep both until you can, then cull. Win-win!

then why are you wasting your money? better to buy new music by new artists, or at least recordings by artists you don't already own. that's what i'm doing. ;)

My thoughts exactly. Keep the older ones, avoid the remasters.

I also agree with this.

If the "sound difference" isn't major for you I suggest you decide from a "programming" perspective. Most of the McMasters insert the alt. tracks next to the masters while the RVGs put them at the end. Then dump one and keep the wife.

Keep them.

This 'which is better ?' debate has been going on for years but to me the BN Works TOCJ series is unsurpassed.
