Jazzmoose Posted March 16, 2006 Report Posted March 16, 2006 (edited) Figured I'd edit the title so I can just use one thread without it refering to the Morgan/Shorter set... My eBay Link! More will probably come along as well! Edited March 26, 2006 by Jazzmoose Quote

Guest Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 hey there.... How come these beau box-sets fetch such high prices on ebay? Is this material unavailable elsewhere? Quote
J.A.W. Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 hey there.... How come these beau box-sets fetch such high prices on ebay? Because OOP Mosaic sets are collector's items. Quote
tonym Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 Pardon me for asking, but why you selling Moose? Quote
Jazzmoose Posted March 25, 2006 Author Report Posted March 25, 2006 Speaking of which, The Complete Blue Note Lee Morgan Fifties Sessions added today... Quote
Jazzmoose Posted March 25, 2006 Author Report Posted March 25, 2006 Pardon me for asking, but why you selling Moose? Oops...missed a post there! Several reasons I guess... 1) I don't listen to the hard bop stuff as much as I used to. It was my entrance into jazz, but I'm more into newer stuff now (and, oddly, older stuff). 2) I no longer have any desire to own more and more by each artist. To use Lee Morgan as an example, if want to listen to Lee, 99% of the time I'm going to grab either the Lighthouse set, Cornbread, The Gigilo, Search for the New Land, Delightfulee or his last one. I'll probably make a one disc compilation of tunes from other discs and sell them as well. I rarely listen to the fifties stuff. I like it, but there's just too much else to choose on the shelves. 3) My newest hobby (riding, and more importantly, doing the mechanic work on my motorcycle) is soaking up quite a bit of cash, getting my shop set up, which leads to the reason everyone knows is really number one.... 4) I could use the money! Chuck Nessa Posted March 25, 2006 Report Posted March 25, 2006 You can listen to the '50s stuff while scraping the bugs off your teeth. Quote
Jazzmoose Posted March 26, 2006 Author Report Posted March 26, 2006 Sorry, I can only scrape bugs off my teeth while listening to doowop... Anyway, some nonMosaic stuff added to the mix. Lee Morgan, Mahavishnu Orchestra, one Mingus and a Cecil Taylor all for your perusal. If you do that sort of thing... Quote
Brad Posted March 27, 2006 Report Posted March 27, 2006 (edited) When you need the cash, hard to beat that kind of money. I saw what those Vee Jays brought. Pretty tempting, if you can burn them. Been thinking about selling my Basie Roulette Live for the cash. Edited March 27, 2006 by Brad Quote
Bill Nelson Posted March 28, 2006 Report Posted March 28, 2006 You're unloading Mosaics of 50's jazz, right? Maybe it's just a 'mood thing'. However -- --you might avoid being alone at night while 'cleaning' the old man's gun collection. Quote
tonym Posted March 30, 2006 Report Posted March 30, 2006 Pardon me for asking, but why you selling Moose? 4) I could use the money! always a good one that... Quote
David Ayers Posted March 30, 2006 Report Posted March 30, 2006 Can you change the spelling of Mosaic in the ebay heading for the Tristano etc set? People who rely on ebay searches and alerts might not see this set... Quote
J.A.W. Posted March 30, 2006 Report Posted March 30, 2006 Can you change the spelling of Mosaic in the ebay heading for the Tristano etc set? People who rely on ebay searches and alerts might not see this set... It's already been bid on, so changing the title or description is no longer possible. The only thing you can do now to rectify things is cancel the auction and relist the set. Quote
Aggie87 Posted March 30, 2006 Report Posted March 30, 2006 At least there's a reserve on the set, so it won't be won for 12 Euro-cents. Quote
Jazzmoose Posted March 30, 2006 Author Report Posted March 30, 2006 (edited) Crap, it's still bad? I thought I fixed it... Oh well, more added today. No Mosaic sets, but lots of Jazz Messengers and some Cannonball as the shelf clearing continues... EDITED TO ADD: Okay, I ended the Tristano set early; didn't look like it was going to sell anyway. Fixed the spelling and the shipping problems, and relisted, but just for a seven day run. Note to those who asked: the reserve is the same as it was before, $90.00. Jazzmoose Posted April 2, 2006 Author Report Posted April 2, 2006 More ah...frugal stuff added, plus the Blue Mitchell Mosaic is now up for grabs! Quote
Jazzmoose Posted April 2, 2006 Author Report Posted April 2, 2006 Duh...the mistaken shipping price problem has been fixed on the new entries. No, I don't charge $10.00 per CD for shipping. Quote
