medjuck Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 Hey if I go to Amazon via the forum when I order books does Jim get credit for the purchases? Quote
The Magnificent Goldberg Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 Thought so. Good thing I got my last one through you. MG Quote
Daniel A Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 What about purchases from Amazon Marketplace sellers? Quote
Claude Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 Jim, can you please find the answer on the question I posted in the "A request" thread? If I could integrate an Organissimo referrer into my Amazon bookmarks, it would make ordering easier. Is there a way to integrate an Organissimo referrer into Amazon links, just like there is with CD Universe (&frm=lk_organissimo). I would like to use it as a bookmark so to be sure Organissimo benefits from all my purchases. This is the CD Universe link with integrated Organissimo referer, that you can bookmark: http://www.cduniverse.com/default.asp?styl...=lk_organissimo Amazon uses a "&tag=XXXX" string in the referrer URL, where XXXX is the code name of the affiliated site, but I don't know the code name for Organissimo Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 Didn't see that. Yeah, let me look that up. Quote
The Magnificent Goldberg Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 What about purchases from Amazon Marketplace sellers? Didn't think about that! A LOT of the stuff I get from Amazon UK is from the marketplace sellers. In fact, everything since Organissimo set up the link. MG Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 I get a cut of anything you buy off Amazon as long as you go there through the link at the top of the page. Quote

ghost of miles Posted December 10, 2006 Report Posted December 10, 2006 Just a reminder to folks that you might want to filter any holiday online shopping you do at Amazon or CDUniverse through the search engine here at Organissimo... so that Santa leaves a little extra in the Big O's stocking! mgraham333 Posted July 28, 2007 Report Posted July 28, 2007 If someone can find the code to properly link to Amazon.com so that Organissimo gets credit I will add Amazon links to the August 2007 RVG pre-order thread (and future threads as well). Quote
Van Basten II Posted July 28, 2007 Report Posted July 28, 2007 I already have proven that i'm as dumb as it gets but where are the links for Amazon that are supposed to be on top. Remember seeing them in the previous configuration but can not see them right now. Quote
Claude Posted July 28, 2007 Report Posted July 28, 2007 (edited) They seem not to have been integrated into the new forum software, but the search script is still on the server: http://www.organissimo.org/forum/aff_search.php Bookmark this link to use it as a hub for your Amazon and CD Universe purchases. Just select the store from the list and hit the arrow (no need to enter a search term). This will set the referrer that will make Organissimo benefit from your purchase. (Jim, please rectify if that's not accurate). Edited July 28, 2007 by Claude Quote
Van Basten II Posted July 29, 2007 Report Posted July 29, 2007 Thanks. I'll do that for my next purchase, they are some boxing bios that i'm looking for. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted July 29, 2007 Report Posted July 29, 2007 I need to integrate the search bar back into the current skin, but frankly I've been remiss to do so because we've been making barely any money from it. For the time it takes to do it, it's not really worth it. But I will get it up there eventually. Quote

Claude Posted July 29, 2007 Report Posted July 29, 2007 (edited) Jim, how much is the Amazon provision for affiliate sites? I've been using the Organissimo links every time for my purchases (at least $2000 in the past 6 months), most of the done at Amazon marketplace sellers. Is there something in their affiliate system that privileges new customers and doesn't make you benefit from the purchases made by regular customers? Edited July 29, 2007 by Claude Quote

Is there something in their affiliate system that privileges new customers and doesn't make you benefit from the purchases made by regular customers? I've done about $450 worth of stuff this year + $75 that hasn't turned up yet. Without doing precise maths, about two thirds/three quarters has been with the .uk, .fr & .de Amazons, the rest with .com and CDU. Maybe the European Amazons ain't treating you well... MG Quote

Jim Alfredson Posted September 18, 2007 Report Posted September 18, 2007 In case anybody didn't notice, the search bar is back. I could not get it to display in the same place as it was before, but it seems to be fine right under the member menu bar. Quote
Daniel A Posted September 18, 2007 Report Posted September 18, 2007 Still curious about this: ...we've been making barely any money from it. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted September 18, 2007 Report Posted September 18, 2007 It was averaging around $20 a month from CDUniverse. Less than that from Amazon. It has increased a bit (just got a check from CDU for $42). I think with the European Amazons you have to hit a threshold before they transfer the money, so it happens in waves. Quote

I got my new hard drive from Amazon.uk, and have been doing a lot of stuff with them lately. Hopefully, you'll get a cheque soon. (I suppose a hard drive counts? Not just music.) MG Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted September 18, 2007 Report Posted September 18, 2007 As long as you get to Amazon.uk from here, yes. All purchases count. The cookie that is transfered to your computer when you start your search here lasts for 12 hours, I believe. Quote
