The Magnificent Goldberg Posted November 8, 2006 Report Posted November 8, 2006 Got my CD copy a few weeks ago for £3.45 inc post. I only had half the album before, on the "Supa cookin'" twofer. Very happy bunny, but I still wish someone would do a proper job on reissuing GM. MG Quote
The Magnificent Goldberg Posted November 8, 2006 Report Posted November 8, 2006 Oh, sorry Chris. We have O'Donel Levy, Leon Cook and Mark (it sez Mike) Elf on guitars; Mike Moss (d) Kwasi Jayourba (perc). MG Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted November 8, 2006 Report Posted November 8, 2006 Leon Cook, a fine guitarist in the mold of Wes Montgomery, passed away earlier this year. He was a great player and a real gentlemen. This has always been one of my favorite records, probably since it was one of the first organ records I heard, thanks to my dad. It's very sloppy in parts, but the groove is undeniable and both Groove and McGriff sound fantastic. Quote
Kevin Bresnahan Posted November 8, 2006 Report Posted November 8, 2006 Can you hear Mark Elf's Keith Jarrett-like whining? Great guitarist but the whining drives me crazy. Don't sit near the stage. Quote

Noj Posted November 8, 2006 Report Posted November 8, 2006 I picked this one up at the same time, also at a bargain basement price. Great stuff! Quote
