Rooster_Ties Posted September 18, 2003 Report Share Posted September 18, 2003 If anyone is only thinking about picking up one or two of these, probably the one of these three NOT to get is "Impact", which suffers from some odd sound-quality issues in it's CD release. The music is still great (really great!!!), and it's not anything that can't be compensated for by a little EQ tweaking on your stereo -- so don't let that stop you from getting all three of them if there's interest in such. But if you're gonna skip one, "Impact" might be the one to skip. But the music, on all three, is fantastic. By way of comparison, these three Tolliver albums are every bit in the same league as the best of Woody Shaw's output in the 70's. Highly recomended.
