jazzbo Posted June 17, 2025 Author Report Posted June 17, 2025 The version of Marley's "No Woman, No Cry" on Monday Michiru's "Don't Disturb the Groove" has really moved me today. It's early but it may be the most penetrating listen of the week. Quote

Gheorghe Posted July 18, 2025 Report Posted July 18, 2025 I have not listened to records for a long time, but hear them in my head. Today, while waiting for the Trolley I spinned "Fast Track" from the 80´s Miles Davis live album, the one with Mike Stern. You C, I got my hifi-equipment just inside me 😎 Quote
Gheorghe Posted August 17, 2025 Report Posted August 17, 2025 (edited) https://youtu.be/vvOTLtTG5G0?si=LENwszXdH5aW2dcX Mihai Traistariu "Cât de frumoasă ești !” (= "How beautiful you are!" That´s my absolute favourite when it´s about non jazz music ! That´s from my country România and it´s the song my love Andreea Irina aka "Miss RA" taught me to sing and to play on piano. I mean, when a girl gives a boy THAT SONG, she loves him..... Edited August 17, 2025 by Gheorghe Quote
Holy Ghost Posted September 21, 2025 Report Posted September 21, 2025 "So What". I really like that there is no real dilberate effort to sound like Miles' So What, but the chord changes are there, and Grant "chording" behind Kenny Drew is awesome. Color me impressed. Grant, in my opinion, really turned "So What" into an outstanding track on the entire album. Quote
Holy Ghost Posted October 8, 2025 Report Posted October 8, 2025 So Pier Avenue. Musically amazing. Roy Haynes is phenomenal!! Quote

They had a couple of substitutions: Donald Harrison had a gig with Ron Carter, so Craig Handy filled in. Eddie Henderson was under the weather and Mike Rodriguez sat in for him. Quote
