I didn't know this existed.

I was wondering about that too. A few more details would be helpful, such as CD label and number, release date, things like that.

Edit: Found some info. CBS France issued a set back in the 1980s, The Complete Duke Ellington (1947-1952), first on 6 LPs and later on CD. Here's the AMG review of the LP-set and here their review of the CD-set.

I have the LP version. Note that it is not the Duke's complete Columbia recordings of that period - the tracks released on three 12" Columbia Lps were not included as CBS France had already reissued them as single albums. The music is good, though ... I see Mosaic do this batch properly in the coming years.

Two of the three Lps not in that set were available as single CD reissues from Columbia:

What was the 3rd Lp not included?

The fifth volume of the cd series contained Masterpieces by Ellington and the Liberian Suite. Uptown material is not included in the series.

I believe the 10" Liberian Suite was issued as a single cd. I had it at one time.

Yes - I too no longer have that one since that suite was added to some other reissue as a bonus.

But I just had a look at the LP box, and the Liberian Suite was included!
