Aggie87 Posted September 28, 2008 Author Report Posted September 28, 2008 (edited) Friends of mine, the husband is an Aggie and the wife is a Sooner (OU). I hate it when they have a good football weekend, like they did today. LOL - you can remind them that A&M BARELY won at home, by 4 points (and they were 4 touchdown favorites!). On a neutral field, I'm not sure they would have beaten Army. A&M just isn't very good right now. It's bad when you're competitive with the teams that are never very good. papsrus Posted September 28, 2008 Report Posted September 28, 2008 (edited) Nice to see both Georgia and Florida take a loss -- shake things up a little. So what are the top three now? Oklahoma, LSU, Alabama? I guess my USF Bulls tore up a pretty respectable N.C. State defense tonight. Nice. Penn State looked pretty good from what I saw tonight also. Jazzmoose Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 It's hard to take this seriously when you live in a state that features Ducks and Beavers...the only way I can tell them apart is to figure out which one kicked USC's ass... Quote

Aggie87 Posted October 11, 2008 Author Report Posted October 11, 2008 Wild Texas-OU game so far! Texas is up 45-35 with 4 minutes left. Texas got lucky earlier on a blown call - Oklahoma had an INT in the end zone, but the refs ruled that the OU guy didn't control the ball, so Texas got the ball back and hit a field goal. Looked pretty clearly like an INT to me. Quote
Soulstation1 Posted October 11, 2008 Report Posted October 11, 2008 Wow Michigan sucks this year :rsmile: Quote
T.D. Posted October 11, 2008 Report Posted October 11, 2008 Wow Michigan sucks this year :rsmile: They sure do. I couldn't believe you laid the 17. Granted, the 2-point win over Wisconsin showed promise, but they followed it up with a 25-pt loss to Illinois. Quote

Looked pretty clearly like an INT to me. That was to make up for the stupid stupid STUPID "roughing the kicker" call. Nice acting job by that OU punter, the big wuss. But yeah, as much as it pains me to say, I thought it was an interception, too. Still, if anyone had told me that UT would've even been close in this game, much less win it, I'd still be laughing. And yeah, Michigan really sucks this year. Toledo, jeeeeezussss...... Quote

T.D. Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 Is Penn State that good, or is Wisconsin (who lost by 2 to Michigan and by 41 to Penn St.) horrible? Quote

I was too, but then the commentators explained that by rule in order for it to be an interception the player needs to maintain control of the ball even after hitting the ground. Quote
Noj Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 I've always heard the ground can't cause a fumble. That was an INT in my book. I was surprised it wasn't reviewed. It didn't factor too heavily in the decision, though. Texas made the big plays down the stretch. T.D. - My brother's friend, who we refer to as "The Almanac," says Penn State is that good. Quote

Free For All Posted October 19, 2008 Report Posted October 19, 2008 The Horns are puttin' a hurtin' on Mizzou. Texas is looking real good right now, but they have a tough schedule ahead. I'm hoping there isn't the usual Texas meltdown that seems to happen whenever they have an opportunity to have a great season. Quote

Free For All Posted October 26, 2008 Report Posted October 26, 2008 I went to the Florida State/Virginia Tech game today. The weather was beautiful and it was big fun. They really do it up here. Quote
Aggie87 Posted November 2, 2008 Author Report Posted November 2, 2008 Wow - Texas Tech beat #1 Texas tonight! Amazing ending to a game where they had a big lead, Texas clawed their way back into it to take a lead toward the end of the 4th quarter, and then Tech came back with a scoring pass from Harrell to Crabtree with 1 second left. The Tech fans were going crazy, storming the field and tearing down goalposts, but there was still time on the clock. Biggest win in Tech history - where will they be ranked come Monday? Quote

Man, Texas sure didn't look motivated at all, very flat. Tech was very well prepared and came ready to play. Looks like another crazy season for the BCS! Florida State lost too, after fumbling on what would have been a go-ahead TD with under a minute left. Sheesh. Quote

I think Texas had to have been tired from having played Oklahoma, Missouri, Ok State, and Tech back to back. That's a tough stretch. They've got Baylor, Kansas, and A&M left on their schedule. Should be 3 more wins on their slate, though Kansas may give them a bit of a game. They should finish 11-1. Tech has a two tough games coming up - Ok State then Oklahoma. If they come out of that with two wins, they'd have to be a contender for the title game, regardless of whoever else is still standing, I'd almost think. Funny thing about Tech is how everyone has proclaimed Mike Leach to be some offensive genius, and yet he's really only running the old 80's Run & Shoot offense basically. They just do it well. Quote
