They were a few stories appeaeing on the net confirming it, but a few have been taken down, very bizarre case to say the least with all kind of rumors flying. Chessnut played numerous times here in Montreal, people doing the Suoni per il Popolo festival brought here often where he enjoyed a tremendous support among the Montreal hipster community.

NY Times now reporting that he died today, according to a family spokesperson.

Too bad. I know a couple of people who played in his backing bands. Seems like he had a tough time with all of life's hardships, and didn't quite come out the other side.
