Clunky
Segments Live at the Village Vanguard What's your take on Geri ? Just picked up Maroons - very impressed all over again, I must dig out my other GA discs. Any recommendations regarding her more recent recordings. Of these three Vanguard gets the nod from me. jlhoots
She's no slouch on the 2 quartet CDs with Ornette. Not exactly recent, but still great. Edited May 19, 2010 by jlhoots
B. Goren.
In general, every note she recorded worth listening. If youy like the trio with Haden & Motian, you must listen also to this one: Dont forget that this trio recorded also on Montreal Tapes series: If you are interested in her recent releases, I can recommend you to listen to her version of Zodiac Suite:

jazzbo
I'm a big Geri Allen fan. It took a while, but I've learned to like her two most recent Telarc recordings.
fomafomic65
Not easy to find anymore, but excellent: TRIANGULAR (Blue Note, 1989), released under drummer Ralph Peterson's leadership. Yessir, that one's a bit of a gem! Great one indeed; I was lukcy enough to find a copy of it. Geri added some tasty acoustic piano solo (and less memorable synth) to the early Steve Coleman and Five Elements.
Guest Bill Barton
Count me in as another big fan of Ms. Allen. Her recent Flying Toward the Sound solo piano disc on Motema is superb.
