Recently ran across Caliman while reading about Horace Tapscott's Pan Afrikan People's Arkestra. Glad he was able to share some of that life wisdom with many during his final years, and happy Origin records was dedicated to recording him frequently. Guest Bill Barton Posted September 16, 2010 Report Share Posted September 16, 2010 I haven't been online much in the last few days for various reasons but definitely want to check in on this thread, as Hadley Caliman was an iconic figure on Seattle's jazz scene. Since moving here in 2001, one of the most emotionally compelling shows I attended was the CD release party for Gratitude at Tula's. I had the chance to hear him in performance a few other times as well, and to meet him and speak briefly with him. What a truly nice man. He will be sorely missed. R.I.P.
