A Lark Ascending
That's a sad one. Saw him many times, both in a free and straightahead setting. A regular at Appleby back in the good old days.
clifford_thornton
Shit! I was corresponding with him for a minute; seemed like a nice guy and definitely a great player. RIP.

sidewinder
Damn - he made some great albums over the years. Some particularly fine ones with Tubby Hayes e.g. 'Mexican Green'. A stalwart of British jazz. Just listening to him the other day on the Kenny Wheeler 'Dream Sequence'. Last time I saw him live must have been with Keith Tippett and Mujician some years ago. RIP, another very sad loss. Edited February 4, 2011 by sidewinder
The Rep
Another sad loss, I saw him with some of the british greats, always good, always at home. Yesterday I was listening to Joe Harriotts album "Live At Harry's" on which Tony play's, I believe it is made from some of Tony's private recordings. Thanks for the music. RIP Tony Levin.
