Jim Alfredson Posted February 24, 2011 Author Report Posted February 24, 2011 Yes it is! On the plane to LA now. Would be great to see you at the club tomorrow. Quote
BFrank Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 Yeah, that would be cool! I have some logistical problems, but I'll work on it. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted February 26, 2011 Author Report Posted February 26, 2011 Palm's Playhouse in Winters, CA tonight! Quote
BFrank Posted February 27, 2011 Report Posted February 27, 2011 Sorry I couldn't make it last night, Jim. I hope it was a great show! Hopefully the band will swing through here again one of these days. Quote
BeBop Posted February 27, 2011 Report Posted February 27, 2011 Frustratingly close all week - I'm in Spokane, Coeur d'Alene and Pullman. Quote
BFrank Posted February 27, 2011 Report Posted February 27, 2011 Maybe it was just as well, it sounds like you were (are) a bit 'under the weather'. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted March 1, 2011 Author Report Posted March 1, 2011 The San Fran gig was rough; caught some kind of virus that came on like a freight train in the afternoon. Between the hotel and hitting the stage, I threw up five times. But once I got on stage, somehow I was able to supress it and get through the night and actually felt better by the end of the second set. Still, don't want to do that again. Tonight at Jazz Alley in Seattle. We play tomorrow there as well. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted March 1, 2011 Report Posted March 1, 2011 If you are down front, wear rain coats. Quote
BFrank Posted March 2, 2011 Report Posted March 2, 2011 The San Fran gig was rough; caught some kind of virus that came on like a freight train in the afternoon. But once I got on stage, somehow I was able to supress it and get through the night and actually felt better by the end of the second set. Still, don't want to do that again. Tonight at Jazz Alley in Seattle. We play tomorrow there as well. Now I'm even MORE happy that I wasn't able to get over there! Next time.........for SURE. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted March 2, 2011 Author Report Posted March 2, 2011 It was actually a really good gig, musically, despite the flu bug I had. I kept myself locked away in the dressing room during the breaks. The show at Jazz Alley last night was fun. The house Hammond B3 they have is a gem. I kinda wish I was kicking bass on it; the low end is insane. I guess Joey DeFrancesco will be here next week with David Sanborn. He'll love that organ for sure! Quote
Peter Johnson Posted March 2, 2011 Report Posted March 2, 2011 Jim, when's your next midatlantic east coast swing? Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted March 2, 2011 Author Report Posted March 2, 2011 Not sure. Probably not until the fall. We're going to Europe a lot this year. I just noticed we might (might) be playing Yoshi's in October, San Fran peeps. Quote
J.A.W. Posted March 2, 2011 Report Posted March 2, 2011 We're going to Europe a lot this year. Which countries? Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted March 2, 2011 Author Report Posted March 2, 2011 The Netherlands (Ospel), Spain, Italy, Germany, Switzerland... I think that's about it right now. More coming... Quote
J.A.W. Posted March 2, 2011 Report Posted March 2, 2011 The Netherlands (Ospel) That's in the South Netherlands. Too far away for me (I'm in the North). Quote
Big Al Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 If y'all are even thinking about going, and they're anywhere near you, GO SEE THEM!!! Of course it's a treat to be able to see Jim swingin' his ass off, but I'll tell y'all right now: Janiva is SMOKIN' HOT!!!! And she can shout it & preach it like few others! Damn, I wish y'all would swing thru here again soon! Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted March 4, 2011 Author Report Posted March 4, 2011 Jimmy Mak's in Portland OR tonight! In about an hour. I love this city. Quote
