Worth area... he mentioned not having seen anything much about jazz, so I volunteered to milk the Tejas community here a bit and let him have some directions... On July 7, Ronald Shannon Jackson will make a rare appearance at the Kessler Theater in Oak Cliff. The Rebirth Jazz Band is playing at the Kessler on May 11. On May 20 and June 17, board members Jim Sangrey and Greg Waits appear at the Free Man in Deep Ellum. For CDs, CD Source on Greenville Avenue has a fairly large jazz stock (used). And trumpeter Dennis Gonzalez and his sons (the band is Yells at Eels) plays occasionally at The Common Table and at the Kessler Theatre.
