colinmce Posted July 3, 2013 Report Posted July 3, 2013 Yeah, I was gonna say, the one I got was a later pressing with a beat jacket (clean vinyl, though). Your copy looks pretty crisp. And it's a splendid recording, of course. Quote
JSngry Posted July 4, 2013 Report Posted July 4, 2013 Hey, it was a record for sale. somebody was going to pay something for it. Quote
Homefromtheforest Posted July 4, 2013 Report Posted July 4, 2013 Pure comedy indeed Clifford!! The Arthur Doyle selling for over $1,000 is just insane. I sold my mint copy a few years back for around $350 which at the time was on the high side of the average...whoever bought this copy will have a hard time ever getting his money back out of that one! clifford_thornton Posted July 4, 2013 Report Posted July 4, 2013 Yeah, I thought the high on that Doyle was $600 a few years ago, but nope... I paid $100 for an old stock copy quite a few years ago, traded it, then was given another very nice copy for free (which I kept). Great record (IMO) but not for that kind of change! Quote
Homefromtheforest Posted July 4, 2013 Report Posted July 4, 2013 I found my mint copy for $7(!) but it was just after I bought the rank and file reissue which in my opinion was a well done and quality reissue job so I kept the reissue and flipped the original. It's a wild record but not something I play very often... Quote
sidewinder Posted July 4, 2013 Report Posted July 4, 2013 (edited) Not sure which is more lunatic - the prices fetched on this auction or recent prices for not-so-rare Blue Notes. Edited July 4, 2013 by sidewinder Quote
