Milestones Posted September 18, 2013 Report Posted September 18, 2013 I don't know if this is the right place to put this, or whether this website has been discussed anywhere. But quite by accident I ran across a website called this: IOMOIO. I don't know much about the quality, but the prices are dirt cheap. Individual tracks tend to cost .16. Older records, such as Blue Notes from the 60s, can usually be had for less than a buck. Selection is good, if maybe not as good as some other websites. I just can't believe such a website can cost so little. Quote
Eric Posted September 18, 2013 Report Posted September 18, 2013 there is enough flakiness in the fine print to make you pretty suspicious for example: concerns over copyright infringement? send them to our address in Kiev in their Terms & Conditions, they list an address in Cyprus Quote

sonnymax Posted September 18, 2013 Report Posted September 18, 2013 There are many Russian-based download sites that take advantage of the Federation's unwillingness to enforce anti-piracy laws. From what I read, Russia had to adopt stricter copyright laws that are more in line with those of other countries in order to get into the WTO. Enforcement in another matter, however. To this date, only two sites, AllofMP3.com and LegalSounds.com, have been shut down. When LegalSounds.com closed down recently, they took their subscribers' money with them! Things don't look too good for the future either. Just a few months ago, Russian lawmakers put forth a new anti-piracy bill that applies only to movies and TV series. They reason that these works are "expensive to produce", unlike music, software, etc. Quote
JSngry Posted September 18, 2013 Report Posted September 18, 2013 Removed the domain from the site name in the OP to address concerns about possible linking to the site. Quote
