David Ayers Posted October 2, 2013 Report Posted October 2, 2013 This highly desirable disc is showing as up for reissue on amazon uk - for those who missed the earlier sold-out reissue. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Topography-Lungs-Evan-Parker/dp/B000FZERZ4/ref=sr_1_1?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1380715355&sr=1-1 Quote

Blue Train Posted October 2, 2013 Report Posted October 2, 2013 (edited) A shame his issues with Derek Bailey once again keep him from putting his name on the cover....like they were originally. Otherwise a must recording in my opinion. Edited October 2, 2013 by Blue Train Quote
.:.impossible Posted October 2, 2013 Report Posted October 2, 2013 Already "Currently Unavailable." Quote
7/4 Posted October 2, 2013 Report Posted October 2, 2013 Already "Currently Unavailable." I blinked and I missed it again! Quote
colinmce Posted October 3, 2013 Report Posted October 3, 2013 If it's been re-pressed by Emanem, then it should show up elsewhere. Quote
mjazzg Posted October 3, 2013 Report Posted October 3, 2013 Already "Currently Unavailable." I blinked and I missed it again! Emanem site states it's not available until "about October 9", see post above. Other retailers are unlikely to stock it before the source! Patience may well reward...it's worth the wait Quote
mjazzg Posted October 25, 2013 Report Posted October 25, 2013 Emanem now showing this as available again Quote
Stefan Wood Posted October 25, 2013 Report Posted October 25, 2013 Is this the one Derek Bailey album to own? I don't have any of his stuff. Quote
mjazzg Posted October 25, 2013 Report Posted October 25, 2013 Is this the one Derek Bailey album to own? I don't have any of his stuff. It's certainly an album to own. I don't have enough knowledge of Bailey to comment on how it rates in his overall catalogue. I would say however that it's a fine example of three musicians sharing the music-making and the credit for some amazing music. It's definitely the Parker, Bailey, Bennink album to own Quote
Stefan Wood Posted October 25, 2013 Report Posted October 25, 2013 When I'm up in NYC tomorrow I'll look for it (a trip to Downtown Music Gallery is mandatory). Quote
Head Man Posted October 25, 2013 Report Posted October 25, 2013 When I'm up in NYC tomorrow I'll look for it (a trip to Downtown Music Gallery is mandatory). Not showing as available on their website...... Quote
Stefan Wood Posted October 25, 2013 Report Posted October 25, 2013 They may not have inputed the info. Who knows? There will be other things to catch my attention (and wallet)...... Quote
Stefan Wood Posted October 25, 2013 Report Posted October 25, 2013 Whether they have it or not, I'm going to DMG. Quote
David Ayers Posted October 25, 2013 Author Report Posted October 25, 2013 I'm not going to DMG either way. I'm done with their mind games. Quote
clifford_thornton Posted October 26, 2013 Report Posted October 26, 2013 Is this the one Derek Bailey album to own? I don't have any of his stuff. It's great but I'd go for solo albums like Domestic & Public Pieces (Quark/Emanem), Lot 74 (Incus) or Improvisations (Cramps) to get you started. Not to mention Ballads & Standards on Tzadik, which are lovely. As far as group music is concerned, I'm personally a big fan of the early edition of Iskra 1903. Quote

I've had this experience with them a number of times - disc is listed in stock, I've placed an order only to be told that the item is not available I now email them re availability prior to placing an order Quote
Utevsky Posted October 29, 2013 Report Posted October 29, 2013 In my younger days, this album was a revelation to me. Quote
