Late Posted February 16, 2014 Report Posted February 16, 2014 Why does the cover art of a bootleg always give itself away as a bootleg? Are there any bootlegs that don't look like bootlegs? (Other than the current "official" bootleg series of Dylan and Miles Davis, which still somewhat look like bootlegs.) Quote

mjzee Posted February 17, 2014 Report Posted February 17, 2014 (edited) Well, first you take a photo, could be of anything, could come from anywhere, any quality, doesn't need to reference the musician; then your lettering on the cover should be in a commonly-found font, like Helvetica; finally, your covers should have the same look from release to release. Oops, I think I've just described... I should add this: Edited February 17, 2014 by mjzee Quote
romualdo Posted February 18, 2014 Report Posted February 18, 2014 One of my "least" boot leggy bootlegs - a bit of work has gone into this cover Quote

He did indeed, the Yardbirds Golden Eggs (I & II) come to mind, as well as a couple os Rolling Stones Titles - Bright Lights, Big City and a '72 tour album whose name is escaping me at the moment.
