erwbol Posted April 27, 2015 Report Posted April 27, 2015 Boring. Essentially the same problem as last time. Quote

sonnymax Posted April 27, 2015 Report Posted April 27, 2015 (edited) 12, but you appear to be missing addition signs at the end of each of the first two lines. I agree. It reminds of when the class would rack its brains trying to figure out the answer, only to discover that the teacher had given the problem incorrectly. Edited April 27, 2015 by sonnymax Quote
JSngry Posted April 27, 2015 Report Posted April 27, 2015 Factoring (no pun intended) in the absence of + sighs at the end of the first two lines, the real equation would be 1+1 x 0 +1 = 1+(1x0)+1=2, correct? Not? Is this money? Quote
.:.impossible Posted April 27, 2015 Report Posted April 27, 2015 It's kind of sad that we are being presented with basic arithmetic online these days as if it were something more than the first day of fifth grade math class. Quote
John L Posted April 28, 2015 Report Posted April 28, 2015 (edited) Factoring (no pun intended) in the absence of + sighs at the end of the first two lines, the real equation would be 1+1 x 0 +1 = 1+(1x0)+1=2, correct? Not? Is this money? Correct. Maybe it is three equations, it which case the answer would be 5 5 2 If it is one equation and they mistaken left of the plus signs that link them, then the answer is 12. The rule in mathematics is that, in the absence of anything else, multiplication and division before addition and subtraction. Edited April 28, 2015 by John L Quote
GA Russell Posted April 28, 2015 Report Posted April 28, 2015 I saw "blah, blah, blah x 0 + 1 =" So I say, 1. Quote
Brad Posted April 29, 2015 Report Posted April 29, 2015 I thought it was 1 but ain't no genius! Quote
page Posted May 1, 2015 Report Posted May 1, 2015 I see 3 questions, for me the answers would be: 5 5 2 So where does it say we need to add up the three? I don't see a line or something. Quote
