A Lark Ascending Posted June 5, 2015 Author Report Posted June 5, 2015 (edited) Hollywood Tower Apartments (1929) Again, a beautifully sharp photograph that conjours up images of Hollywood. I love looking at board members photos of their locality. There were some great ones from Southern Russia a few years back. Edited June 5, 2015 by A Lark Ascending Quote

Shawn Posted June 5, 2015 Report Posted June 5, 2015 Hollywood Tower Apartments (1929) Thought I recognized this from the movie Somewhere, but turns out that was the Chateau Marmont. Now that I have a new camera I need to go back to the Chateau and take some more pictures. The Hollywood Tower is just north of the 101 Freeway (a few blocks from the Capitol Records building), the Chateau Marmont is located on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood. Quote
BillF Posted June 5, 2015 Report Posted June 5, 2015 You can see the air pollution! I don't think it's pollution. I took this out of the airline window, which accounts for the cloudiness. The weather was great, actually. I'm always aware of near-constant low flying aircraft in central London. Interesting to get the other side of the picture, so to speak. Quote

I took the picture myself. It is in Amsterdam. I didn't dare to go closer to him, but he was clearly not afraid. He likes the surroundings of bikes it seems and there are LOTS there. So, is the heron common to be as tame in Britain as this one? Sorry ,since I took the pic with my phone, it isn't really a good picture. Pigeons are usually more tame, bold even, but this heron was fun to watch. Quote
