duaneiac Posted September 21, 2017 Report Posted September 21, 2017 Disc 2 of 3. This collection ranges from 1938 to 1983, during which time Big Joe Turner conquered the fields of jazz, blues, r 'n b and rock 'n roll -- all without changing his style one iota. Some of the songs included on this disc sound kind of muddy. I wonder if better sound could be gleaned from remastering using today's technology vs. the technology available in 1994 when this set came out. HutchFan Posted September 21, 2017 Report Posted September 21, 2017 (edited) Orrin Evans - ". . . It was beauty" (Criss Cross) Orrin Evans is a remarkable musician, particularly in a trio setting. This one and Flip the Script are both five-star records, imho.   Attila Zoller - When It's Time (Enja) with Lee Konitz, Larry Willis, Santi Debriano and Yoron Israel   Edited September 21, 2017 by HutchFan Quote
