It's a boxy sounding recording from a boxy little club (no dis, just the reality). Later recordists inside the club have worked around that (and the available technology has improved), but none have eliminated it.

Right, no sonic marvels to be expected here .... but the music is - as mentioned by Paul earlier - outstanding ....

Very much in a similar vain as "Free At Last" (which is as a whole a bit more concise) and definitely an important part of Mal Waldron's discography ....
