mikeweil Posted February 12, 2019 Report Posted February 12, 2019 (edited) Wounded Bird CD reissue from 2000 - just noticed this sounds slightly different compared to the 1970 Embryo LP! Edited February 12, 2019 by mikeweil Quote

paul secor Posted February 12, 2019 Report Posted February 12, 2019 Out for a half hour walk this morning - cut short by snow starting to fall and walkways getting slippery. On my iPod shuffle: Early Gene Ammons (he was a pretty good blues ballad singer); Takacs Quartet: Beethoven; Ellington: Such Sweet Thunder; Messiaen; Son House. Quote

Niko Posted February 12, 2019 Report Posted February 12, 2019 Joe Newman & Billy Byers - New Sounds in Swing one of the perks of buying way too many records is that occasionally you find records on your shelves that you didn't even know existed... I guess I bought this because of Gene Quill... it's a pleasant enough record... Quote

One of the first 10 or so jazz records that I ever heard, and one of the 2-3 from that batch I still revisit, still fondly. Sure seems like a "cut above" from that band. Quote
