I bought this album on Monday before seeing the great Roy Haynes perform in celebration of his 94th birthday.  It is pretty surreal to listen to a 1949 recording of him while having seen him perform so brilliantly in 2019.

If you don’t have volume 2, you should pick it up.

I think I picked up Volume 2 on the last trip to Princeton Record Exchange, also for $1.99 and before seeing Roy Haynes.  I am beginning to sense a pattern.

Do you live in NJ? Somehow I thought you lived in Maryland.

No, I live in the Cleveland area.  I've just been fortunate enough to catch Roy Haynes in New York 4 years in a row.  If I lived in New Jersey, my wife would be posting 'Missing' flyers outside all of the New York jazz clubs.

I assume you mean Cleveland, Ohio. That's along way from Jersey. I assume you were there for some other reason. The thing about getting into NY from NJ is that, depending where you live, it takes forever to get into NY. If you drive, it's a zoo and the train is just a royal pain.
