Coltrane means very very atent listening for me, to get every second of the music..... For me, Coltrane pairs well with trippy visuals. Quote

Does anyone know anything about it? It sounds like the kind of record I would be happy to find by accident if I was a hip hop producer in 1995. I have the original double LP nd the CD reissue that was released some years ago. That was a really good band. Consider selling the LP as it goes for good money. Webster Lewis never got the credit he deserved for his great organ playing with Tony Williams, Herbie Hancock and others. At that time synths took over and he never decided on one or the other, it seems. Edited January 2 by mikeweil Quote

Quite the imagination, going back to his work with J-Mac. He made a few record after this one that are also interesting. Quote
mikeweil Posted January 2 Report Posted January 2 2005 Mighty Quinn reissue CD. In such a rather modern context, Lionel Hampton sounded pretty much like Bags in many phrases, especiallly in blues changes. It show how much Bags came out of Lionel. Quote

Currently listening to: Papa Bue's Viking Jazzband and Champion Jack Dupree – Papa Bue's Viking Jazzband And Jack Dupree I really do wish that there were better resources out there for revivalist trad / Dixieland / hot jazz. There's next to nothing in print and a complete absence on the internet. That's a fact that we shall all be rueing when the inevitable "inclusive" Dixieland revival trend kicks off on tiktok and none of us know anything about the one kind of jazz to which the Kids are listening. jazzbo Posted January 3 Report Posted January 3 It’s been too long since I played a recording of the wondrous Ms Maria. And this one is amazing. Just Tania and Eddie, so well-recorded. Some great beauty here and two masters at their best. Tania Maria (featuring Eddie Gomez) “Tempo” Indigo/Naive cd Quote
