At a more modest price point, I've just run across Night Dreamer Records (named for the Wayne Shorter record) out of London, which has revived the Direct to Disc recording process.

Glanced at the article.  Glad they could hear the difference on the $100,000 speaker system.  Wondering how it would sound fed through my $80 Sony boombox and $60 Sennheiser headphones setup?

So he's doing it for the sheer love of it? I can appreciate that. Not sure how he is acquiring titles that have no tape degradation but that is the most impressive part to me.

Haha. I think most people would be surprised how well albums sounded on a good setup. The best part of the article was “Audiophiles listen with their ears, not with their hearts,” Hutchison said. He added: “That’s not our game, really.”  I would love to hear him expound on this.

Here’s the expedience of Mike, a record dealer from Phoenix, Arizona, The In Groove, with these records. Both videos are pretty interesting and both relate to jazz records.
