T.D. Posted March 4 Report Posted March 4 And it's an ACL. Good luck selling those marked-up season tickets. 🤣 Quote
JSngry Posted March 5 Author Report Posted March 5 The best investment is an investment in goodwill. Looks like they screwed the pooch on that one. Quote

That alone is a reason to say no to this trade. Sure, the Mavs need help on defense, but you don't trade the leading scorer & MVP of the previous season for a shot blocker, even if that shot blocker can score & especially if that shot blocker is 31. After all, one guy can't cover all 5 players on the other team. Team defense wins games, not one player's defense. When the Mavs play the Celtics, are they going to put Davis on Tatum? I don't see that working out for them. Yep, dum dum trade. Lakers: A, broken wing, Mavs, F. ....On the other hand, Cavs: Hunter, for Niang, LaVert, A; Atlanta for that trade, C. And that has certainly worked out for the Cavs, well indeed. Quote

From what I read Doncic is less than fully engaged on conditioning, now he’ll have LeBron as a role model. As to how screwed Doncic is by missing a super max deal, I don’t think he needs to worry about money, the super max is worth a 5% bump. "From what I read Doncic is less than fully engaged on conditioning, now he’ll have LeBron as a role model." Similarly uncanny. Was that not why Kyrie left LBJ's Cav's camp, because LeBron wanted to take him in as his son, during their four year Finals run against Golden State, and then left for the Celtics? LeBron has that kind of power, but it seems so far that it is not bothering Luka so far. Quote
Matthew Posted March 16 Report Posted March 16 Watching the Knicks vs Warriors game. I don't get Stephen A. Smith at all. Why is this guy worth twenty million dollars? All he does is yell. Quote

T.D. Posted May 1 Report Posted May 1 I still think the Dončić trade was inexplicable from Dallas's point of view, but the Lakers just crashed out of the playoffs in 5 games. Quote
JSngry Posted May 1 Author Report Posted May 1 That trade literally killed the NBA for me this year. Haven't watched a game since. Quote
Patrick Posted May 2 Report Posted May 2 Lots of interesting games so far this post-season. Big fan of Cavs who continue to quietly take care of business, though admittedly 10th seed Heat perhaps not much of a test (even given “Spoelstra genius” and “Heat culture”).. Heading up for game 1 v Pacers this weekend. Still a big fan of LeBron but rather happy that LeBron/Luka crash landed amidst all of the drooling hype. Still need a center (or two) w some ability to succeed in postseason and Lakers bone dry there. Not a fan of Rockets (esp Brooks), but wouldn’t be sad to see Steph also fail to get to second round. Time to move past these all-time greats when they no longer are on completely stacked teams. Totally understand the disgust of Mavs fans. Quote
GA Russell Posted May 3 Report Posted May 3 Gregg Popovich has retired. Gregg Popovich, the NBA's all-time wins leader, retires after 29 seasons as San Antonio Spurs coach Quote

LOVE what Atkinson has brought to the Cavs. Love to see the transition from last season under J.B. who couldn't get any farther than the Celtics last postseason; Detroit can keep J.B., who led the Cavs from advancing to 3rd round last year. This year, thinking we are going to beat the Pacers, Celtics, which will be a series rematch, but far different from last season, we are going to steal Oklahoma's Thunder. I can feel it. Quote

You got a point with the Western Conference. Yep, dum, dum trade according to me to this day, lt makes no sense to me, but can say the numbers are exactly right in the East. Quote
T.D. Posted May 7 Report Posted May 7 Damn. I was checking scores of OKC-Denver game 1 and pulled the plug with 3 minutes and change left, assuming the Thunder would win. Surprise! Quote
