papsrus Posted September 18, 2009 Report Posted September 18, 2009 Wadada Leo Smith Golden Quartet I really enjoy that one. Was listening to it the other day. If you dig it, also check out "Year of the Elephant" with the same band, if you don't have it already. Very good. Quote

I also enjoy "Year of the Elephant", it was the reason to dig deeper into the work of Wadada Leo Smith. Another one I listen to very often lately is "America" the duet with Jack DeJohnette. Highly recommended! Quote

jeffcrom Posted September 19, 2009 Report Posted September 19, 2009 A cut-out copy of Sonny Rollins: The Freelance Years at a good price. I already had a couple of discs worth of this material, but I couldn't pass it up. Quote
BillF Posted September 19, 2009 Report Posted September 19, 2009 Herb Ellis -- "Nothing But the Blues" That's a great one, paps! I'm mad about Roy Eldridge's playing in the 50s. He's also fantastic on Mingus and Roach's Newport Rebels. Quote
