Vijay Iyer Trio Historicity

I managed to snag this at Reckless Records -- used no less! According to Amazon, it doesn't even hit the US for another month. I had actually gone to Reckless to pick up Brubeck's The Riddle after some on the board were praising it. I also knew from their website that they had Abbey Road remastered -- used. It was still there when I went in, so I buckled and got that as well.

The Traveling Wilburys Collection (2CD + DVD, regular version)

John Surman & Norma Winstone ECM Touchstones (dirt cheap from the sales bins, or I'd have skipped the Surman... the Winstone is a dupe, for my mother as a gift I guess...)

and that disc by Allen Toussaint & Elvis Costello (from the sales bins as well)

Brief visit to Jazz Messengers shop in Barcelona last week:

Bought from them recently online. Why can't Britain still support a shop like that? :(

I'll say it this way: why can´t Madrid support a shop like that?

^_^

This means the British equivalent would have to be in Manchester. Good!

Wadada Leo Smith Golden Quartet

I really enjoy that one. Was listening to it the other day. If you dig it, also check out "Year of the Elephant" with the same band, if you don't have it already. Very good.

I also enjoy "Year of the Elephant", it was the reason to dig deeper into the work of Wadada Leo Smith. Another one I listen to very often lately is "America" the duet with Jack DeJohnette. Highly recommended!
