Dub Modal
Any recs on similar tracks to Trane's Miles' Mode?
Pim
There’s a couple of live versions on the Village Vanguard tapes or isn’t that what you meant?
Dub Modal
Thanks but not exactly what I meant. Was looking for similar songs from other artists. A friend of mine who's getting into jazz asked me about it and I rec'd Clifford Jordan's song John Coltrane as something kind of similar. Dub Modal
Thanks! I was searching for possible tracks from Tyner and Jones but wasn't having any luck. The Pee Wee is good too, bc that's definitely off the radar.
clifford_thornton
Ha, interesting cover by Pee Wee Russell. I assume it's credited to Dolphy here?

It's credited to Coltrane and the liner notes explain that it's also known as "Miles' Mode".

clifford_thornton
I need to dig around and see when it was first credited to Dolphy; as far as I know, it is his tune.
