It is mentioned in this film that Blue Note sent her in 2001 a check of $40,000.-- against royalties.

We can see also Mingus praising her wishing to work with her.

Tom Evered brought her the money.

Is this a clip from the Mingus film? I remember him talking about Jutta and how he preferred her playing to Toshiko's, but I don't remember him saying he wanted to work with her. Curiously, the Mingus film is 1966. Hadn't Jutta stopped playing by then? I am not sure when her last documented gigs were. No later than 1962 or so, IIRC.

A VPN will allow you to watch the vast majority of geoblocked videos no matter where you're at, but unless you do so regularly, it might be hard to justify paying for yet another service even though decent VPNs don't cost very much (the free ones all suck, or at least they did the last time I had a reason to look into them).

Thanks for posting this. It was a very interesting watch. The last part of her life (quitting music and leading a simple life) was something I didn't know at all of.

Continued by watching excerpts from Berliner Jazztage also on Arte replay, watching Ellington (1979) and Oregon (1980).

They say Mingus calls her, around 1957 apparently, when she and Leonard Feather no longer get along, and they play together briefly then. The excerpt of Mingus comparing her with Toshiko Akiyoshi is also shown. No indication of last gigs. But probably not many by 1958. 1959 with the deaths of Lester Young and Billie Holiday is said to be a turning point, she “decides to live”, quits alcohol and gets her new job.
