sgcim Posted February 21 Report Posted February 21 I'm sitting here listening to Willie Colon on Felipe Luciano's great show, Latin Roots. He plays the music of all the great Latin music artists, and dedicated his show to Willie Colon today. RIP Quote
Rabshakeh Posted February 22 Report Posted February 22 I can't be the only one who was introduced to latin music by Colon's Fania records with Lavoe. A huge world of music that he opened up. Quote

mikeweil Posted February 23 Report Posted February 23 This type of salsa was not my favourite, but I always respected his enormous contribution to the music. R.I.P. Quote

pglbook Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago (edited) RIP to a legend. Willie Colón is one of my favorite Latin music artists. Willie Colón/NY salsa, Fania All Stars, along with Cuban music, are my favorites. El Gran Varón is my favorite Willie Colón song. It exemplifies what was so special about his best songs - the combination of great music and a powerful social message. Que se vaya con Dios, maestro! Edited 1 hour ago by pglbook Quote
