We've really had our ups and downs here in N.Y.C.. Sunday we had an arctic, bone-chilling 2 degrees. Yesterday, snow to freezing rain. Today, steady rain but 54 degrees. Go figure...

Storm Katie just swept through the garden - hey, ho, the wind and the rain.

Blew a big crow or raven nest from the big tree next door down into my back garden . The noisy blighters will have to start again..

After a spectacular weekend of blue skies and heat, the like of which we see only occasionally here (apart from 1976!), 24 hours of almost continual rain. My water buts runneth over. Expected to run out of Atlantic about 11 a.m.

90 degrees here today and yesterday. I guess that's a cold wave for you. My condolences - can't imagine that anyone likes 115.

We don't usually get severe weather here, but this afternoon brought very heavy rain and nickel sized hail. There was a tornado warning, but we didn't get hit with one. Could be a lot worse, I guess.

The first truly hot day of the year, 38 in Tokyo, and first use of A/C this year.

Good luck with those preposterous mid summer Tokyo Olympics.
