  2. I think I have a problem? My kidneys are hurting. I usually use 1 part whiskey, ice, branch water and then give the whole mess two shots from my Zerostat pistol. But, lately I have been using an extra Zerostat shot. I think that's too much. It doesn't hurt the whiskey any, but I wonder about the effect on my human system from the Zerostat. Here are the Zerostat instructions: 1) The Zerostat MUST be within 12 inches of the target. (I have to admit that I don't have the patience to bring out the tape measure every time I have a drink). 2) Zerostat should only be fired at locations where inanimate object of static potential should be neutralized. ? What the hell is INANIMATE? All I do is I trying to neutralize the hangover effect. It's always worked before. By the way, it seems worse when I play Artie Shaw records.
  3. I don't know if this is a budget label but I have several JAZZ HERITAGE cds. The cd label reads licensed by Fantasy Records. The cds seems to stem from the late 1990's. Anybody know the history of this cd label. It would be much appreciated.

What a buch of BS from Sonature.com. We all know that sound goes in one ear and out the other. I have never had the courage to go to a Ornette Coleman concert or to hear SunRa Arkestra (help!).
  5. NO! NO! NO! You guys are all wrong. Here is the answer: http://www.nittygrittyinc.com/mini-pro.htm Get the $1000.-- nitty gritty machine, it's well worth the money. The after you get the record washed, dried and vacuummed you give it a shot from the Zerostat pistol. This gun, when you pull the trigger releases millions of positive ions, and then when you release the trigger millions of negative ions are released. I know it works, I use it myself. Malt Whiskey on ice, two shots with the Zerostat and you just sit back while the Nitty Gritty cleans the LP.

    Audio DVD

To Kevin, There is a slight misconception. I am not talking about DVD-Audio, but what's sometimes called audio-DVD. The Wav files are incorporated into the Video stream. I can get about 9 or 10 LPs on the DVD. Any DVD player will play those back. The problem is a DVD can only display 99 tracks (called chapters). I am talking 16/44. The research I have done says the most resolution you can get out of a new LP is about 12 bit, which means 16/44 is more than good enough. I am also going to bypass my soundcard and transfer directly from LP to table top DVD recorder using DVD+RW discs, then rip the audio from the burned DVD+RW. MP3 is not an option. I am only interested in Wav files. To Rostasi, Roxio Toast may be an option, but it's only for the Mac, right? I tremble by the thought of Roxio, nearly wrecked my system sometime ago. I don't want to use the TV either. Only the DVD player for playback. Many receivers play back DVDs. I don't see how you can get 42 hours of audio on a DVD unless the audio is compressed (not MP3). One solution to the 99 track limit is to append 2 LP tracks together as one track, of course with the normal pause between them. To ?? (I can put water in a sieve. The water comes out nice and clean, especially if its tea water. The sky is blue because of the water. If water has gone thru the sieve, the sky is much more blue)

    Audio DVD

A while back there was quite a discussion on transferring LPs to DVDs as audio. One member, I forget his name, really pushed it. ( Why is the sky blue?) Anyway, I tried it. There is a hangup. A DVD can only have 99 chapters. An LP or CD track is treated like a chapter. You navigate the tracks by advancing to the nect DVD chapter. But when you hit 99, that's it. You can no longer navigate even if there are more tracks. The tracks after 99 play all right, but you can't select them. For example: 7 CDs @ 20 tracks = 140 tracks. Put the 7 CDs on the DVD and you can select only up to 99. Quite a bummer I would say. Are there solutions? Any comments! (No commnets about the sieve, please)
  20. Hi Christiern Since you recorded Kid Thomas here's a little tidbit: Kid Thomas recorded a lot of stuff in Denmark for Knudsen. When he went to Aarhus, he proudly proclaimed that he was going to play in another country. (Just a little humor, no disrespect to the man, he was a wonderful trumpet man). My avatar is the upturned Ymaha grand from the hurricane that Rotterdam encountered about a year ago. Made a real mess of it. I was on the Rotterdam this year in January. They had to Yamaha grands, a blue one and a kind of red one. I played both, they were absolutely horrible. I didn't know Yamaha made such awful stuff. Maybe the wood is different because of all the moisture on the ship. (I should have asked but didn't) Skaal!
