  1. There is this from 1934: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6b5oWwFUhN0
  2. Great news! A CD reissue of Wooding's recordings is long overdue.
  3. By a coincidence I just happened to read that Christie Brinkley turns 60 today.
  4. I guess that, with reduced personnel, there has been no one updating it consistently. I noticed that also the Stitt, the Liebman/Beirach Select and the Ellington Newport 1958 Single are missing from the OOP list.
  5. I suppose they are referring to MS-020 (quartet), not MS-037 (big band).
  6. That's what it was purported to be, but it has since been established that the recording in question was made over a year earlier. 7th June 1955 is the latest word, if I remember correctly. It could not have been from the night Brownie died, as previously was claimed, since Billy Root was on tour with Stan Kenton then. Brownie did play at the same location just hours before he died, but that occasion seems to have gone unrecorded.
  7. trombonists Milt Bernhart & Clyde Bernhardt
  8. Sounds about as likely as Guy... Although that would eventually have made him King Oliver. Which would have been kinda cool.
  9. Well, with the dildo having been hunted into extinction, these things are bound to happen...
  10. Are you sure about that? Lord lists those eight tracks as being Vogue recordings made in Baden-Baden in May, whereas these supposedly are radio studio recordings made in Hamburg in March.
