Dividing my attention between that football game that's on and:

Teddy Wilson - 3 Little Words (Classic Jazz). This was recorded outdoors in Nice in 1976; I love the birds that sing along.

Odell Brown and the Organ-Izers - Ducky (Cadet). This is a tough group, even when playing lightweight material.

An odd one, which I've mentioned before - the soundtrack LP to the 1964 movie Get Yourself a College Girl (MGM mono). It has two excellent tracks each by the Jimmy Smith Trio and the Stan Getz Quartet (with Gary Burton). The rest is rock and roll and pop of the time. Most of that is pretty disposable, but the two tracks by The Animals are pretty tough for 1964.

In case the pics above disappear one day... the other two Pyramids albums I forgot to add the titles are "King of Kings" and "Birth / Speed / Merging 1976".

Played the Gene Ludwig 45 that's on sale at Big-O-Records with the final Ludwig album (coming on CD).

Weird one... but enjoyable!

Now playing Helen Humes - Helen (Muse) - very good one, with Buddy Tate, Joe Wilder and Norman Simmons!

Gracham Moncur III - Evolution - BN, Music Matters reissue.

When I relisten to records like this one, I understand why I fell in love with jazz ages ago.

I think that one is in the mail. Still have a batch of Music Matters 2x45 rpms to 'proof listen'.

In the meantime - 'The Artistry Of Freddie Hubbard' (HMV, mono)

I have a near-mint mono NY USA pressing of this particular one and will be interested to hear how it compares. Hearing the session in stereo should be interesting (should compare I guess with the version on the Moncur Select CD). Too much choice ! :)

I got it too, but I didn't compare, I was captured by the music, so I didn't pay any attention at mastering and all the related bs. ;)
