Hardbopjazz
Tomorrow CERN will fire up the particle accelerator to recreate the "Big Bang". Some fear we will create a blackhole by doing this experiment. By Elizabeth Landau CNN (CNN) -- Deep underground on the border between France and Switzerland, the world's largest particle accelerator complex will explore the world on smaller scales than any human invention has explored before. The collider's ALICE experiment will look at how the universe formed by analyzing particle collisions. The Large Hadron Collider will look at how the universe formed by analyzing particle collisions. Some have expressed fears that the project could lead to the Earth's demise -- something scientists say will not happen. Still, skeptics have filed suit to try to stop the project. The full article. Tom Storer
Damn, if the critics' fears come true and the earth is swallowed up by tiny black holes, we'll never know who would have won the election!
Hardbopjazz
I guess it wouldn't matter who wins.
ejp626
Damn, if the critics' fears come true and the earth is swallowed up by tiny black holes, we'll never know who would have won the election! They should fire it up on election day when the last butterfly ballot in FL is counted, creating a quantum condition and splitting the universe into two: one where Obama wins and one where McCain wins. This is obviously what e e cummings was referring to when he wrote: "listen; theres a hell of a nice universe next door; lets go"
