Alice Coltrane "Kirtan: Turaya Sings" LP 2. This was on sale for 12 dollars on amazon so I picked it up; I have the Japanese cd version, which sounds brighter by a bit.

As to straight ahead, I find this is what young musicians of Sherman's age are doing.
