Rabshakeh Posted January 28, 2022 Report Posted January 28, 2022 (edited) Shaun Martin - 7 Summers (Ropeadope, 2015) Fun record from 5 years ago that I'm returning to now - gospel pianist from Snarky Puppy playing playing music that sits across gospel, soul jazz, Disney type music and post bop. Even the more commercial bits have some good rhythm stuff going to give it pep. I like it a lot more than actual Snarky Puppy. I'm really enjoying this one. Edited January 28, 2022 by Rabshakeh Quote

JSngry Posted January 28, 2022 Author Report Posted January 28, 2022 Given to me for Christmas, the Plano library had an all-you-can-eat-for-$10.00 sale and my sone's family went all-in and got me a buttload of classical stuff, this one included. I was not expecting the energy and vibrancy in these performances. A VERY enjoyable surprise! Quote

This record is a lot more commercial and basic than Snarky Puppy though, I think in a good way. Quote
