Edit - this was playing at the same time as the Tjader version above, so I mistakenly thought this wasn't actually a solo guitar tune. Kind of cool actually. But the solo version is good too, once I figured out what was going on.

Yep. Buster plays on the GJT's Love for Sale (East Wind, 1976). I don't think I've ever heard it. Anyone who has: What do you think?

Some Feldman recordings I haven't listened to in a long time. -

I know he was with The Great Jazz Trio along with Tony Williams: Love for Sale.

Marvin Gaye “Here my Dear” Expanded Edition, Motown 2 cd set, disc 2 One of my three favorite Marvin Gaye releases. Sounding really good this evening.

I listened to this 2 LPs on one cd Impulse release that has gathered dust too long. I love Gonsalves. The first LP has him with Rolf Ericson, Johnny Hodges, Ray Nance and whoever set the tempos really chose some intriguing ones that led to steady slow grooves. 300×300 7.46 KB Now I’m listening to the second disc of the Wes Montgomery set that I listened to the first disc from this morning.

I was pleased to see that Pinnacle is being reissued in April as part of Record Store Day. 😃

Has there ever been a jazz "Buster" who has ever been less than a total badass?
-
I saw Buster Williams once in 1979 as „second bass” in the Ron Carter Quartet (with Kenny Barron and Ben Riley). I must admit I like Ron Carter much more on the regular bass than on Picollo Bass that he played. Buster Williams had one solo but it sounded more interesting to me and he got very much applause for that. I love him on records, to bad I saw him live only one time.
