  4. Could have been, or else may have been a timing thing, depending on when your crowd started buying rock albums. From what I see, Paranoid (released 1970) went 4x platinum, Masters of Reality (released 1971) and We Sold Our Soul (released 1976) each went 2x platinum, and nothing else went more than single platinum. We Sold Our Soul was a double album, which I think was specially priced (I never owned it), so it probably looked like the better "deal" back then.
  5. Pretty tempting. I last saw Herbie at Blossom (Kool Jazz Festival) back in 1984. It was a fine show, even with the young Marsalis brothers in the band. He also had two guys named Ron Carter and Tony Williams. Not to mention that Miles was the first act on that very long and thoroughly enjoyable evening.
  6. Yesterday
  7. Yours truly presenting an evening with Cal Tjader's music at a friend's studio. The music sounded terrific on his expensive Hi-Fi.
  8. These Middle Quartets are...expansive!
  9. Brass is Metal:
  10. Thanks! Pretty obscure movie, but I saw it on TV one time, a weekday afternoon movie on a local station, back when they did that type of thing. And of course, there is no YouTube evidence of it, not that I can find anyway. What an odd mixture of talent:
  11. Indeed! The contrast, the switch, it was makes Sabotage stand out!
  12. The Big Beat https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0051410/?ref_=ttfc_ov_bk
  13. Glad to have this! Cover's cool, has this feel:
  14. Maybe it was a New England thing or a Massachusetts thing, but I didn't know anyone that had "Paranoid" in their LP racks. If they had any Sabbath, it was usually the compilation, "We Sold Our Soul For Rock & Roll".
  15. You took notice, to quote Bernard Stollman, "you never heard such sounds in your life" Nothing proceeds this, but then: Even my mom had a 45 single of Paranoid she bought back in 1970!
  16. Eugene Ormandy/The Philadelphia Orchestra - The Columbia Legacy, disc 11.
  17. Air Dance on Never Say Die ventures into jazzy territory. I know TE and NSD don’t get much love, but I still find a lot to like on both albums. I think that the first two albums packed as powerful a punch as any first two albums. They said “sit up, take notice and listen.”
  18. Correction, think Clark Griswald said he doesn't care who is whistling "Dixie" out their asshole, not "Yankee Doodle Dandee"🤔
  19. If Dave Holland comes to town, I'm going. Period.
  20. WOW!!!
