Last call for a great Mosaic box set. I will keep this listed for sale until Monday, September 29. Thank Offered for sale is a nice copy of the following Mosaic Stanley Turrentine box set: The Blue Note Stanley Turrentine Quintet/Sextet Studio Sessions 5 CD, Mosaic, 2002 Limited Edition of 5000 numbered copies (this is copy # 3065). Everything is in excellent condition - outer box, CDs, jewel cases, large booklet. There is just some very minor rubbing to about a 1/4" piece of the mid left side edge of the front cover paste-on photo. I had not even noticed that until now but wanted to mention any minor issue at all. It is a nice copy. $70 (+ $10 media mail shipping). U.S. shipping only. Payment by pay pal friends/family. I will pack this carefully (wrapped in bubble wrap), ship it in a sturdy box, and provide a postal tracking # after shipping.

If they said they are the same venue as that one in Barcelona yes it’s them. The jazzmessengers store ships from Barcelona. Happy customer here 👍

I'm in Lisbon and was visiting a huge bookstore when I saw a sign pointing up a flight of stairs saying " Jazz Messengers". Of course I went up and it was a great selection of Lps with a pretty good cd section. I asked if this was the "Jazz Messengers" who shipped overseas and they replied that they ship from their store in Barcelona. Is this the organization many people here buy from? I've been having trouble posting photos (due to ineptitude) but i took some and when I return home I'll attempt to post them.

Thanks, that sounds plausible. BTW, browsing through the book again, I noticed a photo on the page preceding the page that shows the second photo from the Webster Hall date on your blog: visibly taken at a break during a recording session (the engineer's booth is visible in the background), with two men (musicians, probably) reading their newspapers. Could this have been taken at the same Webster Hall session?

Whispering is the source of Groovin High, and is indeed an old grumpy song. So hey...

By the look of it, I think it could be backstage at a festival and I don't think it was recorded. If that's the case, and I'm right about Calhoun, it'd be a matter of triangulating: Jones, Heath, and Calhoun almost definitely imply having Basie, the MJQ and Erroll Garner in the same place -- Joe Benjamin was more of a free agent (he was with Brubeck for some months in 1958, for instance). A candidate would be Newport '59, where Basie, the MJQ, and Garner played, but I haven't had the time to check whether Benjamin was there at all.
