I found an OG copy at a flea market in the 70s, and jumped at the CD reissue (with some alternate takes at the end). And yet I forgot about that CD. Jeesh....

It's very good. I picked it up the minute I saw Ammons' name on it. I got the 1993 Vee Jay CD with bonus tracks.

Hindemith String Quartets - Thoughts? Recommendations?
Olie Brice replied to JSngry's topic in Classical Discussion
Their whole discography is well worth investigating - even if you're not a fan of the composer. I wasn't really into Schumann but their album of his quartets is completely wonderful -

This is actually a good album (Euro-jazz fusion, 1974) This is an unusual crossover project but great fun to listen to.

Manchester Originals vs the Northern Superchargers in the Hundred. These teams have new owners, and next year will probably have new names. Originals won both women's and men's games on the day, the latter by some distance. Beautiful weather and a large crowd.
