  9. yeah, the one with Mellow Tone and Undecided I had heard. The one with Eddi "Lockjaw" Davis and Harry Sweets Edison reminds me of the second half of the 70´s when I saw them together live on several occasions. It was great ! Though I was more into more advanced forms of jazz, they swung so hard it was just wonderful, I loved it, loved them !

  11. The discs are virtually impossible to obtain unless you belong to the group that puts them out on a limited basis which I think costs $50/year. I managed to acquire 9 of them several years ago and found none since. The ones I have all contain great material.

  13. Soprano Summit “Crazy Rhythm” Chiaroscuro LP Wow, this is a hot (loud) LP. I love a recording where Marty Grosz is the harmonic rhythm core, and Gorge Duvivier makes an excellent partner here.   14. so the tapes for the Don Ayler on Jihad do exist and they are with an archive, not sure about licensing however. (and I'd also add that I have no idea whether the tapes are in good enough condition to use)
  15. RIP. Was fortunate to meet Guy in person in Paris in 2018. He had me over for lunch – Cassoulet and a serious Bordeaux in a beautiful apartment on the rue de Pontoise. Showed me great photos he took in NY in the 60's. Always inspiring to be around people with such exemplary careers who witnessed landmark storied sounds and sights first hand. Thankful for the sharing of his knowledge and passion for jazz on Organissimo.
