  1. Another Cunningham:
  2. Saw the thread and have a bunch of things to say but I'm really preoccupied with other stuff at the minute. Just want to add there were technical considerations with lps - inner groove distortion on full sides, etc. I always spent hours and hours programming lps. Cds are a different animal. I always thonght long cds should be programmed as one would plan 2 sets. I have spent about 6 months worrying about the programming of my cd reissue of Roscoe Mitchell's Nonaah. More to follow.
  3. Sadly, George's father passed away the day after the event/concert/book release in Chicago. Good George was home.
  4. OUTSTANDING!!!! Ann and I send our love to all FOUR of the Alfredsons.
  5. Right. Lester was not shy about correcting the pronunciation.
  6. Same here, though I only met her once.
  7. Blows what and why, compared to....? I really don't know. I have had the music on early BN pressings (mono and stereo) and at least 3 cd versions. Does anyone think the music gets better as the formats move along?
  8. At first I thought someone lost a fish. Now I disover a kid is a turd.
  9. I was spending the night at our daughter's place on the north side of Chicago. She said she was awakened by her cat running around the bedroom at the appointed time, but neither of us felt it.
  10. Slept through it in Chicago.
  11. Don't think so. Not certain 'cause He was at about 15 years older when I first met him. He had gray hair, goatee and black horn rims when I knew him. I think the tenor player's forehead hairline is too high for Johnnie. Hard to tell from the old film but I think Board was darker than this fellow. More like the bari player.
  12. Finished copies of the book were on sale at the event tonight. It was the first time George had seen it.
  13. I will be there. FYI I will be the guy looking like an irritated old fart.
  14. No mention of "Stormy Monday". Probably 'cause is wasn't a "jazz soundtrack" but an interesting jazz infused film.
  15. I love this stuff. Thanks.
  16. And the smile. Stanley, no doubt.
  17. It would've clashed with my "I don't wanna stay in Iraq for another 100 years" button. Hmm, I see your point. Then again, wouldn't that 'another 100 years' button clash with your other favorite pin.........the 'I never had a problem supporting the open-ended military commitment to enforcing southern & northern No-Fly Zones after 1990' one? That would be an apple button and an orange button.
  18. Guess we are now in pre-grid days.
  19. AND, Skid is correct. Forget the bit about the squirrels.
  20. Sexy is good, nomatter which of the four (or sixteen) angles you start from. I stop at squirrels. Their tails bother me.
