The first (only?) Wilson on Classics is 1945-46. The Jazz Factory seems to be a reissue of a 1954 date issued on Audiolab, Federal and King. JF adds to these 8 titles another 7, said to be from a concert in 1950.
No duplication.
What label is that? Lonehill? Is that a comp of Savoy material?
Will spin Modern Wondows Suite tonight. Curson is a special kind of trumpeter-kind of like Woody Shaw-he is able to play in all kinds of settings and sounds convincing in each of those cases.
That was an Audio Fidelity issue. Since their logo is gone, I guess it's a "Spanish" issue.
I found alittle on google, including this- http://cgi.ebay.com/1-CENT-CD-Billy-Mitche...7QQcmdZViewItem
freakin' 1 cent, anyone own it? any good?
BUY IT. Jeez.
This is an amazing document but I must say the edited lp version gave me a more positive feeling for the gig. Monk seems very happy/engaged on this job and the same energy does not seem to carry over to the subsequent Jazz Workshop gig. The Workshop set is fine, just not the same.
Dumped the vinyl when the cds arrived and I felt a bit of a "let-down". I would never dispose of the cds but wish I still had the vinyl.
I will probably start another topic comparing the two versions of the Jazz Workshop packages. I find disturbing timing discrepancies between issues.
Yes the one on the right was one of those folding boxes. I got that one when it came out.
I don't think Hat has reissued the 2nd lp from Braxton's Composition 98. The live version on that record is dandy. I do have the single cd issued, but still have the lps.
