  1. I had this years ago as a Spotlight lp. Unless you have all other Webster stuff, I suggest letting it go. It is interesting but only for real Ben freaks.
  2. No blatant "untruths" in the review, but I guess you had to be there. This was seen as an "interesting failure" at the time (by me and the folks with whom I associated). As a distributor of this material I can say very few bought it. The release of this recording only added to JCOA's problems. I have not kept my copy and did not tape it before the sale.
  3. I immediately thought of Ellington, Silver and John Lewis pieces - an ASCAP search turns up 85 results and BMI claims 146. Do your own search.
  4. There are a couple of Warren pics on BNs and in the books but there are copyright issues. Contact with MC will sort this out.
  5. Nice title - is that Black & Blue, too? MG Yup.
  6. Another Lafitte/Davis disc is Three Men on a Beat. The third man is Alvin Queen. This is a wonderful date.
  7. I'm afraid I have a dozen on the way.
  8. I'd hoped this thread was about Pee Wee and Shorty.
  9. I'm still afraid of bird flu. I ain't buying squat. I might buy beautifully packaged squat to listen to in Canada as I await the winged death.
  10. Never watched the program. Always thought it was against everything I believed about aesthetic stuff (to uplift the human spirit). Sorry.
  11. Fine video. Interesting to see Jim "worrying" about stops and the "involuntary" finger motions. Joe looks so "soulful" and Randy looks like a "force of nature". I've emailed the clip to a bunch of folks. Thanks.
  12. I've seen him in action and he uses one of these. I just realized Kodak named this puppy after one of our board members!
  13. Up, for the slackers.
  14. No fear of bird flu?
  15. Let us know if George has a Braith thing going.
  16. I thought he was from the DC area 'cause I heard him there and Shirley mentioned "starting him out" or something like that. It was obviously a "reunion". Tonight while reading the liners of Braith's "Soul Stream" I discovered the following line: Hugh Walker, who completes the foursome, is a 20 year old drummer from Oklahoma. He has been playing professionally for five years and came to New York recently.
  17. Gotta web page for that product? rehymen.com
  18. you could use to lose a few posts, ya big fatty! I'm afraid of becoming a newbie.
  19. I was just gonna mention that one.
  20. So you didn't keep the Grant Green and Billy Gardner sessions but you are considering one with "a couple of guys with a Grant Green and Billy Gardner thing going"?
  21. Hope I don't lose another 2500 posts.
  22. And source of tons of good information. Glad you found your way here Ed!
  23. Been gloomy and rainy for at least 2 weeks. Looks like it will last for another 4 days. You'd think we were in Seattle.
